As a key member of the MECCA Brands Pty Ltd team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistency and quality of our brand voice across all customer touchpoints. Your expertise in sub-editing, proofreading, and fact-checking will be instrumental in crafting compelling content that resonates with our audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our brand voice and tone to ensure consistency across all content
  • Sub-edit, proofread, and fact-check all copy, including store signage, website content, emails, videos, and apps
  • Edit copy to fit space constraints while maintaining clarity and relevance
  • Enhance on-site editorial stories with tagging, alt text, and metadata
  • Write engaging subject lines for all media channels
  • Manage copy approval processes within the Content team and with broader stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the Content team to proof and sign off marketing content on site
  • Project manage the implementation and ongoing management of DAM systems in collaboration with the Marketing Process and Operations team
  • Liaise with Compliance and Legal teams to ensure accurate and compliant copy
  • Work with product and front-end developers on digital projects
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in a sub-editing role
  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, English Literature, or a related field
  • Outstanding organisational and planning skills with the ability to multitask effectively, manage timelines, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to partner with and manage cross-functional stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and tactical execution with a resourceful, can-do attitude
  • Understanding and interest in digital retail, digital content, beauty, fashion, and trends
  • Passion for words and grammar
  • Ability to think on your feet and project manage other teams to ensure workflow consistency
  • Technically fluent with a quick-to-learn attitude for new IT systems
  • Experience in CMS and DAM systems is beneficial
  • Skilled in writing web-friendly copy using best-practice SEO principles
