About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Communications Manager to join our Enablement Communications team, playing a key role in shaping and communicating strategic initiatives across ANZ. As a key member of our team, you'll develop and implement Group Risk's communication strategy and plans to support strategic priorities across the organisation.

Working closely with ANZ's Chief Risk Officer, you will lead the delivery of communications for Group Risk, with a focus on driving clarity on the division's vision, goals and objectives through crafting the right message for the right channels.

A highly skilled communications professional and curious self-starter, you will stay abreast of external insights, best practice and emerging ideas in strategic communications, risk management and the financial services industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and managing communications plans for ANZ's Chief Risk Officer and senior leaders within Group Risk, including social media strategies, thought-leadership articles, external speaking and speechwriting.
  2. Developing and implementing communication strategies for Group Risk and key strategic topics across ANZ, such as risk awareness and risk culture, and managing change communication to support Group and divisional priorities.
  3. Leading the delivery of regular Group Risk and CRO communication such as Weekly Wrap, staff webcasts, roadshows, big calls, townhalls as well as coordinating Viva Engage activity.
  4. Planning, identifying opportunities and developing content with subject matter experts for ANZ channels including the intranet and bluenotes.
  5. Working collaboratively with fellow Communications and Public Affairs team members and stakeholders to plan, deliver and/or oversee key communication plans in line with ANZ's strategic priorities.
  6. Using feedback, research, analytics, surveys and other data to continuously improve communication.
  7. Developing innovative approaches to engage employees and deliver relevant, high-impact and effective communications.
What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Proactive communications expert with leadership communication and change communication experience: highly skilled in the development and delivery of impactful strategic communications.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence at executive and senior leadership levels.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and evolving context while navigating ambiguity.
  • Strategic thinker: outcomes focused, strong problem-solving capability and creative in finding solutions.
  • Excellent writer and editor: can write in multiple styles and for a broad range of channels and situations.
  • Exercises sound judgement: makes sound and timely decisions in an ambiguous or crisis environments, calm under pressure.
  • Strong project management: ability to produce, consult and follow through on communications plans and strategies (incl. digital and social). Works to deliver outcomes within set timeframes and agreed standards, overcoming obstacles where necessary.
  • Natural team player: collaborates to deliver results and has a demonstrated ability to develop relationships at all levels and across geographies.
  • Broadens perspective: curious about new information, new ideas and diverse perspectives. Continually develops understanding of ANZ's business, financial services industry and best practices in communications.
