Job Title: Capital Works Project Manager

Description

Oversee the successful delivery of complex capital works projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget. Manage contractor and consultant contract negotiations, as well as performance reviews.

This role requires a high degree of initiative and autonomy, with strong stakeholder engagement skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement strategic asset management plans for mid-to-end-of-life assets.

The selected candidate will possess a relevant degree in Civil, Marine, or Structural Engineering and have extensive experience managing infrastructure engineering and construction projects from tender phase to delivery. Key responsibilities include:

  • Tender documentation assessment and review
  • Writing specifications and designing detailed drawings
  • Design review and approval from consultants

In addition, the successful candidate will undertake regular reviews of the Authority's infrastructure assets, providing comprehensive reports to stakeholders. Strong knowledge of local legislation and policy is essential for this role.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you must have:

  • A relevant degree qualification in Civil, Marine, or Structural Engineering
  • Proven experience in managing infrastructure engineering and construction projects
  • High level of initiative and ability to work autonomously
  • Demonstrated asset management experience, ideally in Ports or Marine projects
  • Strong understanding of local Victoria legislation and policy
