Project Director

We are seeking a Project Director to lead our Capital Works projects. The successful candidate will have significant experience in delivering complex projects and will play a key role in managing multiple projects across the municipality.

About the Role
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables to support business objectives and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Prepare contract documentation and specifications for capital works, procure consultants and contractors, and manage allocated Capital Works Projects.
  • Monitor and report on expenditure and progress for allocated Capital Works, evaluating contractor performance and maintaining effective project management systems.
  • Manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and develop contingency plans to ensure project success.

This is an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, overseeing multiple projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive experience in project management, and a solid understanding of best practice contracting and tendering processes.

About You
  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, Engineering, Building, Construction, or Architecture, or lesser qualification with substantial knowledge of and experience within the construction industry.
  • Extensive experience in project management, including design, construction, and contractor management, with a proven track record of managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Solid understanding of Australian construction standards, codes of practice, and relevant legislation, as well as excellent communication skills and stakeholder management expertise.
