Job Title: Platform Development Engineer

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, test and documentation of software components. They will work closely with project teams to support Naval Combat Systems projects using a computing platform in Australia and worldwide.

  • Participate in collaboration with project teams as required.
  • Design and implement new software capabilities.
  • Develop and evolve existing capabilities.
  • Cyber security impacts will be considered in all aspects of development.
  • Address technology obsolesce.
  • Investigate and address reported issues.
  • Provide integration support for customer projects.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in software engineering or related technical discipline are essential.
  • Experience with software products, development environments, and open-source tools is necessary.
  • Significant experience in software integration, continuous integration/delivery, test automation, and Dev Ops tools and workflows covering technologies such as Kubernetes and Jenkins.
  • Configuring and integrating tools to work together in a Linux system is required.
  • Containerization and virtualization technologies such as Docker must be familiar.
  • Linux skills are crucial.
  • Programming languages such as Python, Bash, and Go must be proficient.
  • Exposure to at least one software development lifecycle model in a formal engineering environment is required.

A defence security clearance is necessary for this role. Applicants must hold an Australian Defence Security Clearance preferably to NV1 level or have the ability to gain one.
