Position Overview:

The role of GIS DevOps/Cloud Engineer is pivotal in managing the development lifecycle of cloud automation tools. This position involves a comprehensive approach to design, development, and testing, ensuring that our cloud services are efficient and reliable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the complete Software Development Life-cycle, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Engage in web development utilizing technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
  • Utilize scripting languages including PowerShell, Python, and Ruby to enhance automation processes.
  • Implement software engineering best practices, including source control and automated testing.
  • Manage cloud automation initiatives, preferably in AWS or Azure, utilizing tools like AWS SDKs and CloudFormation.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to convey complex concepts.
  • Apply the principles of Infrastructure as Code in development practices.
  • Utilize configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.
  • Maintain a strong focus on security within web applications and cloud environments.
  • Design and define architecture as necessary to facilitate project implementation.
  • Work with both Relational and NoSQL databases to support application development.
  • Adopt Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, to enhance project delivery.
  • Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) systems to streamline operations.
  • Manage change and risk associated with software releases and their dependencies.
  • Possess prior knowledge of GIS products to effectively contribute to projects.
