
Meat Department Associate

Job Title: Meat Department Team Member
">Description: As a key team player in the meat department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of our meat facilities. This includes tasks such as wrapping and labeling meat products, stocking display cases, and operating a meat grinder. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the department, including dismantling equipment to sanitize it. Your duties will also include assisting with restocking supplies, adhering to department procedures for quality and consistency of finished merchandise, and providing excellent customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
">Daily Responsibilities:
">- Inspect and reassemble equipment that has been sanitized overnight.">
- Rework display cases and rotate product.">
- Take large trays of styro-packaged meat from large wheeled racks and place individual packages into automatic wrapping machines, following safety and security procedures.">
- Set labels according to product type and price, print, and apply labels to product.">
- Put wrapped and labeled meat on large trays of large wheeled carts and stock in display cases by reaching through sliding windows or moving racks to the floor.">
- Operate a meat grinder, dump meat into the top of the machine, and check the fat content of each batch, following proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.">
- Clean and sanitize the area throughout the day, performing duties to comply with health code, such as sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures.">
- Perform routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements.">
- Provide prompt and courteous member service.">
- Clean the department.">
Additional Responsibilities:
">- Clean and sanitize the meat room, meat cooler, and supply area, washing, applying cleaning agents, wiping, and mopping all surfaces, pressure washing the entire room, and emptying drain screens.">
- Dismantle equipment, washing, rinsing, and sanitizing removable parts, wiping down stationary parts with a cleaning agent, and spraying with a pressure washer.">
- Wash small containers and utensils, re-stock meat room supplies and boxes of meat.">
- Collect cardboard and trash, operate the trash compactor and cardboard baler, take laundry to the laundry service pick-up area.">
- Log sanitation procedures performed on daily reports, complying with health code, following safety and security procedures, and reading labels for proper use and precautions of cleaning products.">
- Assist with stocking cases and follow department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of finished product.">
- Follow Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position, complete, and comply with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Meat Department.">
- Work on Seafood roadshows and serve our Members.">
- Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.">
- Provide prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.">
- Clean the department.">
