About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Student Support Officer to join our School of Alternative Learning Settings (SALS) program. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing responsive and effective student support services to students in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of student support strategies and programs
  • Provide support in therapeutic crisis management and de-escalation strategies
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, youth workers, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and effective student support service
  • Transport students as required
About the SALS Program

The SALS program was established to provide intensive, individualized support to students who require a more tailored approach to their education. Our program focuses on developing students' social skills and ability to self-regulate, with a strong emphasis on cultural responsiveness and student-centered learning.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this role, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment. You must also obtain a valid Working With Children Check and consent to a National Criminal History Check.
