Community Development Professional

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that offers the opportunity to contribute to community development initiatives, enhance service accessibility, responsiveness, and outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged families.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing project support and development to the Communities for Children initiative, assisting with activities, and supporting Community and Service Partners to deliver their agreed services to the community.

To succeed in this position, you must possess excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a community setting, and have a strong understanding of the Port Augusta community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide project support and development to the Communities for Children initiative
  • Assist with activities and support Community and Service Partners to deliver their agreed services to the community
  • Support community initiatives that improve service accessibility, responsiveness, and outcomes for vulnerable and disadvantaged families
  • Connect with families, children, and services in the Port Augusta community
  • Develop programs to enhance community engagement and support community events

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A CURRENT Australian Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated skills in data entry and Excel
  • An understanding of the Port Augusta community
  • The ability to work effectively in a community setting and connect with families, children, and services

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in early childhood and/or community development
  • Experience in program development and administration
