**Deputy Underwriting Manager Nsw, Property Role Overview**

Sydney-based opportunity in a regulated environment.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Deputy Underwriting Manager for the property division. The successful candidate will have a strong background in underwriting business, with excellent analytical and communication skills.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Underwriting business within agreed limits;
  • Supporting the business planning and forecasting process;
  • Maintaining relationships with brokers and clients;
  • Negotiating with producers within delegated authority and in accordance with established underwriting standards;
  • Building and enhancing relationships with brokers and clients;
  • Maintaining expertise with products, services, priorities, and target markets to effectively enable clients to uncover hidden risks.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree preferred and equivalent experience in the relevant class of business, with a proven track record of exercising discretion and independent judgment in the analysis and evaluation of risk. They will also have excellent negotiation, sales, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build excellent relationships with brokers, clients, and colleagues.

  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients;
  • Knowledge of financial targets and levers to deliver on departmental business plan.
