The Senior Risk Manager - Shared Services position at the University of Melbourne offers an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a key role in leading our shared services teams in operational risk management and compliance.

This role requires a collaborative approach with a strong focus on compliance and risk awareness. As the Senior Risk Manager, you will develop strategies to mitigate risks and improve operational risk management practices among team members.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in end-to-end risk management and compliance, particularly in IT and non-IT operational areas. Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex topics effectively are essential for this role.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent relationship-building skills and be able to influence senior stakeholders and drive change in a complex organisational environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the identification, evaluation, and management of operational risks within Business Services teams
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and improve risk management practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Cybersecurity, Technology, Finance, and other areas to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior stakeholders, communicating risk assessments and progress on treatment plans
