The Opportunity:

WSP in Australia is seeking a highly experienced Pumps and Pipes Engineer to lead the design delivery of our suite of pumps and pipes related projects. The ideal candidate will have proven local experience in overland pumps and pipeline design, ideally within a consulting environment. Mining industry experience in coal or other commodities is preferable.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the technical design of pump and pipeline infrastructure, including constructable detailed designs.
  2. Engage in study development, engineering, and project management across several multidisciplinary projects.
  3. Develop designs from conception through to detailed designs ready for immediate execution.
  4. Work with the wider resources team and other teams within the company nationally and internationally to bring the best minds to bear on our pumps and pipes projects.
About You:
  1. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil engineering.
  2. Demonstrated experience in leading the technical design of pump and pipeline infrastructure, including constructable detailed designs.
  3. Demonstrated technical experience in slurry pumping, pipelines and piping systems, including process plant design.
  4. Demonstrated experience in managing design teams, including oversight and mentoring of junior engineers.
  5. Demonstrated experience in client interfacing roles, managing multi-discipline studies and detailed design projects achieving scope, budget, schedule and quality outcomes.
  6. Thorough knowledge of codes and standards and a good understanding of piping engineering practices applicable to mining piping design.
  7. Experience in managing proposal development essential.
