Cyber Security Director Position

  • Lead the protection and safeguarding of information and systems across key areas, including Application Security, Cyber Governance, Cyber Security Operations Centre (multiple locations), Identity Management, Penetration Testing, Platform Development, Security Engineering, Threat Hunt/Purple Teaming, and Vulnerability Management.

Develop robust policy and strategic advice to support adherence to security frameworks and protect taxpayer information. Engage with internal stakeholders and IT service providers to ensure compliance with legislative and policy obligations.

Drive change and continuous improvement in cyber resilience capabilities, managing threats and risks to safeguard people, information, assets, and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading, influencing, and communicating strategic and technical direction for cyber security across the organisation.
  • Driving change and continuous improvement in cyber resilience capabilities.
  • Managing threats and risks to safeguard people, information, assets, and services.
  • Ensuring appropriate security standards and IT security controls are implemented in accordance with government policies.
  • Proposing and implementing new security capabilities to meet organisational requirements and strategic objectives.

Work closely with internal stakeholders and IT service providers to ensure compliance with legislative, contractual, and policy obligations. Develop robust policy and strategic advice that supports adherence to security frameworks and protects ATO and taxpayer information.

This role may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis in multiple locations, including Adelaide, Brisbane CBD, Burnie, Canberra, Melbourne CBD, or Wollongong.
