Gympie State High School and One Mile State School are seeking a dedicated Community Education Liaison to support First Nations students and their families. This role is offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity.
The school prioritizes student wellbeing, cultural sensitivity, and quality teaching to create an inclusive environment for every student.
Key Responsibilities- Provide support services to ensure the best possible assistance/services are available to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander children, students, families and Communities.
- Monitor student attendance and retention through data analysis, phone calls home, home visits, student check-ins.
- Maintain accurate records management and assist students to overcome barriers with school engagement.
- Participate in Enrolment, Re-entry, and Exclusion meetings where applicable.
- Develop and deliver lunch-time activities as part of a proactive student wellbeing program.
- Establish and maintain links with external sources of information and support services.
- Provide information to the school community about Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander social and cultural perspectives.
