Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to fill the role of Community Engagement Officer. This position plays a vital part in supporting First Nations Community Panels in partnership with various stakeholders.

This includes coordinating panels, preparing research outputs, and supporting governance groups. Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate First Nations Community Panels: Provide organisational support for all aspects of the panel, including occasional travel to communities.
  • Prepare Research outputs: Support the creation of reports, summaries, and other written materials for stakeholders and communities.
  • Facilitate Network Activities: Work closely with co-chairs, project officers, and governance group members to enable network initiatives.
  • Maintain Stakeholder Relationships: Engage effectively with community and research stakeholders, fostering partnerships with First Nations organisations.

Required skills and experience include:

  • Culturally sensitive professional based in Victoria or New South Wales with excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with First Nations communities and support impactful health research initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with First Nations peoples, communities, and organisations.
  • Strong skills in promoting culturally safe practices for First Nations researchers, healthcare workers, and community members.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, supporting flexible group interactions both in-person and online.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
