Lead Architect Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lead Architect to join our team.

This role requires a strong all-round design ability, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

The ideal candidate will be able to lead and coordinate the design and documentation of multiple projects, with a keen eye for sustainable design principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the design and documentation of multiple projects in a fast-paced team environment
  • Respond to complex issues with innovative solutions in a collaborative approach
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget
  • Willingness to mentor emerging designers
  • Effectively manage clients, consultants, and technical specialists
  • Maintain design integrity and intent throughout all phases
  • Encourage better design and sustainability outcomes for all projects

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years full-time post-graduate experience
  • Experience across a range of project typologies (commercial and multi-res preferred)
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects at once and work collaboratively in a design team
  • A strong portfolio with proven concept design to construction documentation
  • Contract administration and site experience
  • A solid understanding of BCA and Australian standards
  • Capable of working in a collaborating team environment
  • Proficiency in ArchiCAD gained in professional practice
  • Self-motivated, with effective time management skills
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
