Flute Teacher Position

Lauriston Girls' School is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Flute teacher to join their team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have the skills and qualifications necessary to inspire student engagement in the school's woodwind program and support the recruitment of Flute students.

The successful applicant will be a dynamic, innovative, and motivating Flute specialist with demonstrated experience teaching beginner to advanced level musicians. They will work collaboratively with the Head of Band Instruments to develop and implement effective lesson plans and strategies to engage young musicians.

A key aspect of this role is the ability to work within a Kodály framework and utilise technology and other elements of contemporary curriculum in lessons. The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of relevant examination syllabi and be willing to incorporate new ideas and approaches into their teaching practice.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching private lessons to students of various skill levels
  • Working collaboratively with the Head of Band Instruments to develop and implement effective lesson plans and strategies
  • Supporting the recruitment of Flute students through promotional activities and events

Requirements for this position include:

  • Current VIT registration or Working with Children Check
  • Demonstrated experience teaching music at a secondary school level
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
