About the RoleWe're seeking a highly skilled Projects Engineer to join our team in Kurri Kurri, with a hybrid working setup. As a key member of our Orica Assets and Engineering team, you'll play a critical technical support role in the business, providing expert mechanical engineering design services and advice to the AusPac Region.
Your key responsibilities will include ensuring safety and leadership, providing mechanical engineering support for capital projects and assets, complying with regulatory and statutory standards, engaging design resources, improving business processes, and managing cost centers.
Key Accountabilities- Ensure safety and leadership in all aspects of the role
- Provide mechanical engineering support for capital projects and assets
- Comply with regulatory and statutory standards
- Engage design resources to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Improve business processes to increase efficiency and productivity
- Manage cost centers to optimize resource allocation
- Oversee the commissioning and handover of projects and assets
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) preferred, but not mandatory
- At least 5 years of professional engineering experience
- Experience in project management and managing small teams
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
- Knowledge of statutory requirements relating to Mechanical Engineering and the commercial explosives industry
- Knowledge of Engineering theory and practice covering all engineering disciplines, including project management
- A practical understanding of our depot and manufacturing operations
- An understanding of the Group's objectives and the Project & Engineering's part in those
