Project Manager Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of civil infrastructure projects ranging from $5M-$30M, with a primary focus on roads & civil infrastructure construction.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who is passionate about driving project performance, leading multidisciplinary teams, and delivering excellence across program, commercial, and technical outcomes.

The Project Manager will take ownership of the full project lifecycle—from planning through to completion—ensuring key milestones, sequencing, and delivery targets are met.

Maintaining rigorous control of budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting to ensure delivery within financial parameters is crucial.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Program Management: Ensure timely delivery, meet budgetary expectations, and develop comprehensive project plans.">
  • Cost & Forecasting: Accurately forecast costs, track expenses, and maintain budgetary compliance.">
  • Contracts & Procurement: Effectively manage contracts, negotiate agreements, and mitigate risks.">
  • Team & Site Coordination: Foster collaboration among team members, facilitate communication, and promote a safe working environment.">
  • HSEQ Management: Enforce health, safety, environmental, and quality management standards, ensuring regulatory compliance.">
  • Engineering Leadership: Mentor junior engineers, guide technical performance, and foster career growth.">
  • Design & Constructability Review: Collaborate with designers, challenge designs, and promote constructible solutions.">
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop strong relationships with clients, authorities, consultants, and subcontractors.">
  • Project Strategy: Identify opportunities for improvement, enhance margin, accelerate program delivery, and optimize commercial outcomes.">

Successful candidates will possess:

  • At least 7 years of experience in delivering civil construction projects locally.">
  • Technical knowledge of civil construction methodologies and sequencing.">
  • Contract administration skills, including experience with cost control and forecasting tools.">
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing teams of engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors.">
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.">
  • Proven success in delivering projects on time and within budget under tight constraints.">
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.">
