About Our Client

The National Fire Industry Association (NFIA) is a leading Fire Protection Industry Association in Australia, representing a diverse membership base from small sub-contractors to large international construction and service businesses.

About the Role

As the Policy and Government Relations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining relationships with state and federal government, focusing on key political issues affecting NFIA's members. You will work closely with members, committees, and key stakeholders to drive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage and liaise with government and industry stakeholders to leverage outcomes.
  • Develop high-quality submissions and written policy communications.
  • Plan and develop strategic responses to industry issues in alignment with industry goals.
  • Represent the Association and Fire Protection Industry in meetings and roundtable discussions with Government and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop Membership Communications on government changes.
  • Manage and attend NFIAs Policy and Advocacy Committee meetings.
  • Engage and manage relationships with NFIA Members across Queensland.
Requirements
  • Strong background working in policy and advocacy.
  • Understanding of government structure and processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to tailor communication techniques to suit various audiences and build strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with colleagues, government, industry, and other stakeholders.
  • A high degree of self-motivation, with the capacity to work in a small team environment.
