About the Role

Riot Games is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Team Lead to join the Sydney-based Hextech Gameplay team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering and experience leading high-performing teams. As a Technical Leadership Role, you will be responsible for driving the technical direction of the team and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight to the team, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage a team of software engineers, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and QA, to ensure that technical requirements are met.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues, and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Communication: Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring that everyone is aligned and informed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 1-2 years of experience in a leadership role.
  • Skills: Strong technical skills, including programming languages, software development methodologies, and Agile practices.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Experience: Experience working with complex code bases, Agile processes, and continuous delivery.
  • Industry Experience: Experience working in the games industry, with a strong understanding of game development and the technical requirements of game development.
