Chief Cyber Security Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Cyber Security Specialist to help safeguard our customer solutions and internal systems.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the maintenance and contribution of 24/7 SOC monitoring and incident response.
  • Monitor and investigate alerts and events using tools like Wiz.io, Microsoft Sentinel, OpenSearch, and Databricks.
  • Respond promptly to real-time security incidents across cloud and enterprise environments.
  • Interpret threat intelligence from multiple sources, including Recorded Future, ACSC, AusCERT, and dark web feeds.
  • Participate in simulations such as phishing campaigns and red team exercises.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams to enhance detection coverage and system resilience.
  • Drive improvements to SOC capabilities, processes, and readiness.
  • Rationalize detection logic to minimize false positives and improve alert quality.
  • Maintain comprehensive SOC documentation, including runbooks and after-action reports.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in IT (cyber security or system engineering focus) or 5+ years of relevant cyber security or SOC experience.
  • A strong understanding of Windows, Linux, system hardening, and common TTPs.
  • Experience with threat detection, response, and monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex incidents and propose practical improvements.
  • A proactive, curious, and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of cyber security trends and a commitment to ongoing learning (e.g. AWS or security certifications).
  • A strong focus on continuous improvement, efficiency, and compliance with security and safety policies.
