Job Overview:

The Workplace Services Manager and Adviser role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our members.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice on contracting and compliance matters;
  • Advise on workplace relations issues, including employment termination, dispute resolution, and enterprise bargaining;
  • Lobby and respond to government regulation reforms and activity;
  • Manage, develop, and mentor a team of professionals in workplace services;
  • Identify and report on regional workplace relations and legal issues impacting our members or industry associations;
  • Offer policy, research, and lobbying support for senior executives on relevant workplace relations, WHS, and legal issues;
  • Present at industry forums and deliver training as needed.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Show enthusiasm for hands-on roles outside traditional law firms that offer exposure to challenging legal areas;
  • Be passionate about helping people, enjoy practical problem-solving, and take initiative;
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience providing legal and/or workplace relations guidance;
  • A sound understanding of legal principles and industrial relations, contractual, and regulatory matters affecting the building industry;
  • Demonstrated skills in communicating, advising, presenting information, problem-solving, managing challenging situations, working independently or with minimal supervision, collaborating as part of a team, and holding tertiary qualifications in law, industrial relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
