About this role:
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to lead and manage procurement activities for Battery Energy Storage Solution Projects in Australia. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a matrixed environment, engaging with multiple stakeholders, and managing multiple projects and tasks.
This role requires an autonomous and pragmatic professional who can develop and implement sourcing and procurement strategies to support tenders and project delivery. The Procurement Manager will lead sourcing and procurement activities from the tendering phase through to project delivery and services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing new suppliers and contractors to enhance price, delivery, and quality. They will collaborate with internal teams and external specialists to arrange technical specifications, scope of works, and performance requirements into procurement agreements.
In addition, the Procurement Manager will support the Sales/Tendering Deal team and effectively manage obtaining proposals from suppliers and subcontractors to meet tender timeframes and key deadlines.
Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining procurement plans, managing vendor selection and appointment, issuing purchase orders, and ensuring that equipment deliveries and services meet project requirements.
The Procurement Manager will also work closely with Fluence's Global Supply Chain and offshore suppliers to meet equipment delivery requirements, including specific shipping needs.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 7 years of procurement experience in the power generation, renewable energy, utility, infrastructure, or oil and gas industry.
- Ability to design, compile, and monitor a supply chain risk framework.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to work unsupervised and demonstrate behaviors that promote employee safety and accountability.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work to deadlines.
- Attentive to details in performing all aspects of the role.
