Acute Care Nursing Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated undergraduate student nurse to join our multidisciplinary team in the Hospital in the Home (HITH) unit.

The HITH unit operates a seven day service, providing admitted hospital care substitution to patients in their home through a collaborative approach between healthcare professionals. This service enables patients greater choice in where their hospital care is received.

As an undergraduate student nurse, you will support person-centred, quality, safe patient care while gaining knowledge and understanding of the function of the organisation, healthcare teams, and the profession of nursing/midwifery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accept delegated tasks/duties commensurate with training and assessed competencies.
  • Demonstrate skills appropriate to the level of undergraduate training and competencies.
  • Contribute to the care needs of recipients of healthcare services.
  • Work within a healthcare team under the direct supervision of a registered nurse/midwife.

Requirements:

  • Ability to follow direction and seek advice from a Registered Nurse, practicing within scope of practice.
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve clinical and organisational goals.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccination against certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) is mandatory for this role.
