About the Role

The Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of the hotel's Front Office, ensuring the highest standards of customer service are met. This involves efficiently processing guest arrivals, receiving payments, and checking departing guests promptly. The successful candidate will work in a team of 18, supporting the Front Office Manager in supervising and managing day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Front Office Management team in managing the department according to established team goals
  • Supervise front office employees, ensuring efficient and professional service delivery
  • Handle guest complaints and internal customer inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Allocate rooms for the following day
  • Oversee the issuing, accessing, and closing of safety deposit boxes and completion of relevant documents
  • Maintain a high level of security for guests, staff, and hotel property
  • Delegation of tasks and responsibilities to staff
  • Ensure all employees deliver the brand promise and provide excellent service to internal and external customers

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a Duty Manager or Team Leader in Front Office within a four or five-star hotel environment
  • Proven experience in supervising, motivating, and training others
  • Diploma level or higher qualification in business, tourism, or hotel management is advantageous
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with advanced proficiency in English
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Superior customer service skills and excellent service resolution skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and possess a great attention to detail
  • Flexibility to work on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
