About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mining Engineer to lead and mentor a team of Drill and Blast Engineers at our Boggabri coal mine in NSW. The successful candidate will have a strong background in open-cut operations, with significant experience in drill and blast, mine planning, design, and scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a team of Drill and Blast Engineers, Graduates, and Technical Officers
  • Provide technical support in planning, scheduling, and coordination of mine planning activities
  • Develop and implement effective drill and blast strategies to optimize mine production
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure safe and efficient mine operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or relevant qualification
  • Proven experience in open-cut operations, with significant experience in drill and blast, mine planning, design, and scheduling
  • Proficient user of mining software, including Vulcan, SPRY, Blastlogic, and Gannt Scheduler
  • Advanced literacy and numeracy skills for reporting and analysis, as well as financial acumen
  • Safety-focused, with a strong commitment to improving processes and demonstrating leadership capability
