We are seeking a highly skilled Category Manager to join our team at Melbourne Airport. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for driving strategic procurement initiatives and delivering value across key categories.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement category plans to achieve business objectives
- Manage the entire sourcing lifecycle, from market strategy to supplier performance reviews
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure efficiency, innovation, and value for money
- Lead quarterly category review meetings and document discussions and action items
- Execute market engagements as outlined in category plans, meeting agreed timelines and objectives
- Track and document procurement value, including cost savings, cost avoidance, new revenue streams, and innovation
- Conduct procurement surveys post-engagement to gather feedback from key stakeholders
- Contribute to refining and enhancing procurement policies, processes, and guidelines
- Degree-qualified with significant experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement
- Experience across a diverse range of spend categories supporting multiple stakeholder groups in a complex operating environment
- Strong commercial, contractual, and business knowledge
- Great communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to drive progress and lead sourcing processes to tight time frames
