Job Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of professionals and contribute to the success of our department. As a Team Leader Assessments, you will play a critical role in managing the operations of the Department and achieving Council's performance objectives.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in the NSW Planning system, a can-do attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. They will be able to convey complex information in a simple way, think critically, and effectively prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Development Services Manager in managing the operations of the Department
  • Plan and manage the operations of a team of Statutory Planners and other experts
  • Constructively assess and critique others' architectural and urban design work
  • Negotiate creative solutions to urban design problems
  • Implement projects on time and to budget

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • ">
  • Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning, Architecture, Urban Design or related discipline
  • Class 1A/C driver's licence
  • Knowledge of planning legislation and practice
  • Experience in development of planning strategies and policy
  • Demonstrated work experience in an urban design or related field
  • Demonstrated competence as a coach and manager of people
  • Demonstrated high-level report-writing skills and clear oral communication skills

  • Local Government knowledge or experience
  • Computer literacy, spreadsheet, word processing and database
