Design Manager Role

The Design Manager will oversee and coordinate the design process across multiple retail rollout projects. This role requires a highly organised individual to manage external consultants and navigate complex stakeholder environments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage and coordinate external consultants from concept to construction documentation.
    • Ensure design outputs align with project scope, client brand guidelines, and delivery timelines.
    • Act as key liaison between client-side design teams, consultants, and internal project teams.
    • Review documentation for buildability, compliance, and efficiency.
    • Manage approvals and design milestones in line with program schedules.
    • Proactively identify and resolve design-related issues that could impact project delivery.
    • Support tender submissions and construction teams with design clarifications as needed.

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Design Manager or Design Coordinator in retail, fit out, or commercial construction.
  • Strong consultant management and stakeholder coordination skills.
  • Able to interpret and review technical drawings and documentation.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with fast-paced, high-volume rollout environments is highly desirable.
  • Background in architecture, construction management, or engineering preferred.
