Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Lab Assistant to join our team in Newcastle. In this role, you will be responsible for performing laboratory procedures with precision and efficiency.

  • You will assist the Laboratory Supervisor and deputize for the Laboratory Technical Officer as required.
  • Maintaining a technically first-class laboratory is also a key responsibility of this role.
  • You will conduct routine laboratory analysis, calculate and assess results, and perform equipment calibration and maintenance under supervision.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also help dispatch samples to other laboratories, ensure samples are stored correctly, monitor stock levels, and advise on reordering if necessary.

Your duties will also include checking goods received by the laboratory and assisting in the training and development of trainees.

To succeed in this role, you should have experience handling acids and chemicals, as well as computer skills including Excel, Access, Lotus Notes, and CCLAS.
