Data Centre Lead Engineer

Job Description

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the future of data centre design and engineering. As a Data Centre Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of data centre projects and coordinating the production of feasibility studies, proposals, and managing design deliverables.

  • Manage a team of consultants to ensure they engineer and design to required standards.
  • Stay at the forefront of technology and electrical equipment development; use knowledge to influence development designs and electrical design optimisation.
  • Challenging electrical consultants with informed knowledge ensuring optimisation for customer requirements, cost management, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leading the development of data centre design standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver new and expansion projects efficiently and effectively.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
About You
  • Minimum 8 years experience in electrical engineering design (data centre knowledge highly regarded) in a consulting role and/or technical engineering experience.
  • Expertise in Electrical Engineering skills in managing all project stages for mission-critical facilities, with a special focus on electrical systems design, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
  • Detailed understanding of uninterruptible power sources, diesel generators, electrical switchgear, power distribution units, and automatic/static transfer switches.
