Electrical Engineer - Renewable Energy

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in designing and implementing renewable energy solutions. As an expert in electrical engineering, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative power systems that meet the demands of a sustainable future.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to take on a challenging role in the design and implementation of renewable energy projects. You will be responsible for collaborating with project teams to develop specifications, conducting feasibility studies, and providing technical support to ensure project objectives are met.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project teams to design and engineer renewable power facilities, including battery energy storage systems and balance of plant design for renewable generation.
  • Develop specifications and scope of work documents and prepare detailed engineering design reports.
  • Conduct feasibility studies for integrating renewable energy sources, energy storage, and other emerging technologies into transmission and distribution networks.
  • Provide technical support to project managers and clients, addressing technical inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring project objectives are met.
  • Create drawing packages in conjunction with the drafting team for renewable generation balance of plant design.
  • Conduct field visits and inspections to assess distribution infrastructure conditions and identify potential improvements.
Qualifications and Skills
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in a consulting, development, or power utility environment.
  • A sound understanding of industry codes and standards related to power, such as AS2067 and AS/NZS 3000.
  • Experience in any related power design field, including building services, mining, LV or MV design, with HV Substations experience being well regarded.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive approach to building client relationships through listening, responsiveness, and effective communication.
  • Project management and bid management experience.
