Care and Support Specialist

Care and Support Specialists play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and confidently. As a Disability Support Worker, you will be part of a dedicated team that provides personalized support services, tailored to meet the unique needs and goals of each client.
Your daily responsibilities may include:
- Conducting thorough assessments to identify client needs and develop tailored support plans.
- Delivering hands-on support with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks.
- Facilitating social connections and community engagement, promoting clients' participation in activities they enjoy.
- Coordinating transportation and accompanying clients on outings, fostering socialization and community integration.
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation, tracking client progress and outcomes.
- Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support and advocacy for clients.
To excel in this role, you will need:
- A degree in a related field, such as disability studies, psychology, or social work (minimum Bachelor's level).
- Proven experience in supporting individuals with complex disabilities, either in a residential or community setting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and families.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and flexibility in adapting to changing situations.
- A commitment to the principles of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its impact on individuals with disabilities.
- Able to operate company vehicles (automatic transmission) across various regions.
- Knowledge of local community resources and services, with an ability to connect clients with relevant supports.
