We are seeking an experienced Industrial Relations Specialist to join our team at New Horizons. As an Industrial Relations Specialist, you will play a critical role in managing complex industrial relations and employee relations-related matters and investigations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage moderate to highly complex industrial relations and employee relations-related matters and investigations, including performance management, formal investigations, employee complaints, and attending the commission.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current Employment Relations frameworks, legislation, precedents, and practice to identify and escalate potential impacts, opportunities, and risks.
- Support negotiations for our new Enterprise Agreement and provide employment relations advice on other matters.
- To thrive in this role, you'll need to bring:
- Demonstrated experience with complex case management, workplace relations, and employment law.
- Solid understanding of compliance practices, including the Fair Work Act and other relevant employment/industrial laws.
- Tertiary qualifications in human resources, employment law, industrial relations, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders on employee matters.
- Strong customer service skills with excellent attention to detail and administration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and/or projects, with exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
- Full Australian working rights and willingness to undergo a National Police check.
- Strong critical thinking skills with practical experience in complex matrix organisations.
- Experience in complex industrial environments, case management, and dispute resolution.
This is a full-time position based onsite in our North Ryde head office. As a Not-for-Profit organisation, we require all employees to have a cleared Police check, NDIS Worker Check, and Working with Children Check. Our team can help you coordinate this if it's new to you.
