Underwriting Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team at QBE Insurance. As an Underwriter, you will play a critical role in assessing and managing risk for our clients, ensuring that our policies meet their needs and provide the necessary protection.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate risk for clients, using your expertise and knowledge of the insurance industry to make informed decisions.
• Develop and implement underwriting strategies to attract and retain high-value clients, while improving policy performance.
• Monitor client and market requirements, conducting regular client calls and visits to ensure that our policies meet their needs.
• Ensure that all documentation is accurate and compliant with our organization's guidelines.
• Provide exceptional customer service and problem-solving solutions to brokers and clients.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, intermediaries, and internal stakeholders.
• Partner with our Manager Partnerships team to develop strategic plans to grow our business with targeted customer segments.

Requirements

• Extensive underwriting experience within the insurance industry, preferably in business packages and farm.
• Established customer and broker relationship management and communication skills.
• Understanding of relevant insurance market conditions.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
• Relevant problem-solving and negotiation skills.
