Staff Specialist / Senior Staff Specialist in Anatomical Pathology

Our organization is seeking a skilled and experienced medical professional to fill the role of Staff Specialist / Senior Staff Specialist in Anatomical Pathology.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic and consultation services in Anatomical Pathology, meeting the clinical needs of referrers statewide.

  • Demonstrate expertise in contemporary knowledge, skills, and abilities in Anatomical Pathology, participate in local and remote frozen section services, perform on-site and remote multidisciplinary team meetings, be able to participate in after-hours on-call rosters, and exhibit high-level professionalism.
  • Develop strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the position.
  • Conduct relevant training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis, and management tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date with ISO 15189 and NATA Medical Testing Requirements to ensure continued accreditation in the clinical specialty for all laboratories across the network.

Mandatory qualifications include a medical degree and tertiary qualification in Anatomical Pathology (FRCPA or equivalent) as well as registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist Pathologist.

Fellows of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or equivalent are also required.
