Job Description

As a senior leader, the Chief People Officer will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's future. Reporting to the Director of Strategy, People and Performance, this individual will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic human resource plans that align with the organization's goals.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading human resource functions in a similar-sized organization, with a strong track record of coaching executive teams, collaborating with stakeholders, and building strong networks. They will also possess excellent business planning and management skills, including budget development, financial and resource management, and reporting against strategic objectives and key performance indicators.

In addition to these skills, the successful candidate will have a deep understanding of local government-specific HR legislations and compliance, as well as experience working in complex environments. They will be able to work autonomously under broad direction, with highly developed problem-solving abilities and experience working in diverse cultural settings.

The Chief People Officer will provide strategic leadership and motivation to the People function, partnering with stakeholders to drive business outcomes and establishing a tiered service delivery model. They will also provide accurate advice and guidance on matters related to compliance, legislation, and industrial instruments, and manage all aspects of the unit's strategy, business planning, financial resources, and operations.
