Special Education Teacher - Primary School

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Special Education Teacher to join our primary school team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and individualized lessons to students with disabilities, fostering academic growth through personalized education plans and hands-on learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement individualized lesson plans aligned with NSW Board of Studies and Steiner Education Australia Curriculum requirements.
  • Student Support: Provide personal care support to students when needed, in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Behavior Management: Manage and respond to challenging behaviors using positive behavior support strategies and trauma-informed practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor of Education and current NESA accreditation.
  • Experience supporting students with intellectual disabilities and special needs, preferably in primary settings.
  • Ability to adapt lessons to meet individual student needs, interests, and learning styles.
  • Commitment to inclusive education and the rights of people with disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
