Food Preparation Specialist

An exciting opportunity exists for a Food Preparation Specialist to join our Catering Department on a casual basis. The successful candidate will contribute to the exceptional patient experience by providing high-quality meals and managing the cold larder section.

About Us: We are an 11 Theatre, 189 bed acute private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. Our expert team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses, and allied health professionals provide specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of treatment and care across our Same-day and inpatient stay facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook patient meals to meet dietary requirements
  • Cook food for patients with special dietary needs
  • Manage food supplies and ordering
  • Supervise kitchen staff to ensure high standards are maintained
  • Deliver excellent customer service to staff, clients, and patients
  • Maintain knowledge of food safety procedures
Qualifications and Skills
  • Chef qualification from a recognised training provider
  • Prior experience in healthcare or aged care environments
  • Certificate in Safe Food Handling
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
