Job Overview

The successful applicant will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing of residents and the community at our residential aged care home.

This casual opportunity is available in our Tarcoola Residential Aged Care Home located in Tara, Western Downs region of Queensland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in meal preparation, ensuring the kitchen and equipment are maintained in a safe, hygienic, and tidy manner.
  • Enhance the dining experience by sharing culinary skills and supporting values to meet our mission.
  • Prepare and serve meals on time, ensuring quality and presentation.
  • Maintain basic records, including number of meals per day and missed meals, in consultation with the Chief Cook.
  • Clean dishes, kitchen workspace, equipment, utensils, and fixtures, keeping the kitchen and equipment safe and hygienic.
  • Perform general cleaning duties around the home.
Essential Skills and Qualities
  • Experience in an aged care or hospital commercial kitchen (desired).
  • Previous hotel services experience (desired).
  • Compassion, sensitivity, and maturity to provide high-quality meals.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Flexibility with start times and days, including weekends.
  • Good knowledge of food safety (preferable HACCP).
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively.
