About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Engineer to lead our Reliability Maintenance team at Amazon. As a key member of our technical team, you will oversee maintenance activities, supervise technicians, and drive proactive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment uptime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and motivate a team of maintenance technicians to achieve their goals.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance.
  • Act as a safety ambassador within the team, promoting safe working practices across the site.
  • Manage maintenance-related purchase orders to ensure smooth facility operation and control critical spare inventory levels.
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all facility systems, including power distribution, automated material handling equipment, conveyance, and operational equipment.
A Day in the Life

In every shift, you'll be leading a team to ensure everyone has the necessary equipment and it's running properly. This involves monitoring processes to guarantee compliance with regulations and policies, and ensuring that preventative maintenance is carried out to increase equipment uptime. You'll suggest improvements to make our systems more efficient and productive.

About the Team

The Reliability Maintenance Engineering team keeps our equipment performing at its best. We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers. Some of our people are leaders who oversee the team as they work on exciting technology – some of which only exists at Amazon. From installing automated packaging systems to overseeing the general maintenance of a site to repairing key distribution equipment, our team handles most aspects of Amazon's technical side, including keeping buildings legally compliant.

Basic Qualifications
  • Formal trade qualifications: Cert III In Electrotechnology.
  • Industrial maintenance electrical experience with an Electrical license.
  • Leadership experience in supervising multi-trade teams in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing/distribution center environment.
  • Experience in mentoring and developing technicians.
  • Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments.
  • Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
  • Experience in contractor management.

  • Experience in automated conveyor systems and controls, electrical and electronic principles, preventative maintenance procedures, blueprint and schematic reading, industrial electrical, industrial controls, industrial electronics, Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs, work order management.
  • Experience of multi-contractor management.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance requirements.
  • Facility management.
