Junior Mental Health Specialist

Role Overview
Join a pioneering mental health service to provide innovative psychological support services to young people in need. This role will be part-time, working around 3 days per week (or 23 hours), under the supervision of a Clinical Lead for 12 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide evidence-based psychological support services to young people accessing the service.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Lead and other clinicians to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, identify strengths and areas of concern, and develop strategies to promote positive outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with families, schools, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless transitions and coordination of care.
  • Participate in clinical meetings and contribute to team decision-making.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance knowledge and skills in mental health assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Clinical Psychologists must hold full registration with AHPRA.
  • Social Workers must be Mental Health Accredited with the AASW.
  • Occupational Therapists must have Better Access to Mental Health endorsement from OT Australia.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to hold one.
  • Have a National Police Check that was conducted within the last three months.
