Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Commercial Settlements Officer. This role involves working closely with the Commercial Settlements Manager and Head of Commercial & Development Services on commercial and development settlements processes.

Your primary responsibility will be to accurately manage loans from Letter of Offer stage through to settlement within required timeframes, while providing borrowers with an exceptional customer experience.

You will liaise with solicitors, brokers, and borrowers to achieve settlement in the required timeframe. Additionally, you will assist with and support the wider department, Business Development Managers, brokers, and borrowers with settlement enquiries, lending initiatives, and reporting requirements to ensure divisional targets and objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation of files for settlement in accordance with company policy and procedure, while adhering to all legislative requirements.
  • Ensuring documentation received satisfies requirements of outstanding conditions (including construction requirements) prior to settlement.
  • Coordination of training for your team, including providing expert advice to other teams.
  • Effective communication and liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in loan management software and systems.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience managing and coordinating mortgage settlements involving construction and commercial securities.
  • A strong understanding of the end-to-end loan process and documentation requirements.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven people leadership skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills – both verbal and written.
