Senior Autonomy Systems Engineer

We are a leading international company in the underground mining sector, working on cutting-edge hardware. Our team is based in Burnie, Tasmania, and we're looking for an experienced Senior Autonomy Systems Engineer to join us.
About the PositionThe successful candidate will be responsible for designing, testing, and integrating Machine Autonomy hardware, including isolation systems, remote control, machine health monitoring, and tire monitoring systems on Caterpillar's Underground Hard Rock Mining Load Haul Dump (LHD) Loaders and Underground Mining Truck machines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership and training to new team members
- Create Technology Product Systems by integrating control systems with hardware elements like PLC electronic controllers, sensors, and actuators
- Define and document end-to-end system functionality and performance requirements
- Interact with software and component delivery teams to communicate requirements and specifications
- Conduct systematic evaluation of integrated systems to identify potential failures
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in an accredited engineering, computer science, or materials science curriculum
- 3-5 years of experience with automotive or heavy mobile equipment systems
- Strong analytical skills
