Heavy Machinery Service Technician

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Machinery Service Technician to join our team at Hitachi Construction Machinery. As a key member of our site support team, you will be responsible for providing quality and timely customer outcomes through diagnostic, maintenance, and repairs to a wide range of equipment.
About the Role
This is a site-based role that would be scheduled on a FIFO roster of 2/2 working both day and night shifts. You will report to the Site Support Supervisor and be responsible for:
- Providing quality and timely customer outcomes through diagnostic, maintenance, and repairs to a wide range of equipment;
- Attending to onsite site breakdowns and undertaking fault finding and diagnostic work;
- Maintaining the important link between the customer and the company, ensuring a high level of technical product support;
- Ensuring the HCA Safety Culture is embraced and displayed and driven from within.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Relevant diesel or plant mechanic trade qualifications with experience in the maintenance of Hitachi excavators;
- A strong safety focus with an understanding and ability to abide by site safety processes at all times;
- Excellent technical knowledge of Hitachi mining equipment;
- Good communication and customer service skills and the ability to build long term relationships;
- Hold High Risk Licences – EWP – WAH – Dogging & Rigging.
What We Offer
We are offering:
- A competitive pay rate of $68 per hour, with the potential to qualify for more based on yearly performance & training completed;
- 1hr of Airport standby time & 2hrs of flight travel time paid to/from the Site;
- Reimbursements paid for transport to and from home to airport, or airport parking;

Salary Information
The estimated salary for this role is between $140,000 and $170,000 per annum, depending on experience and performance.
