Mater Health Services is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our Perioperative team at Mater Private Hospital Townsville. The successful candidate will secure a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.
We have two positions available across Recovery Stage 1 & 2. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe, efficient, and effective service is provided to patients and Visiting Medical Officers within Perioperative Services.
Key Responsibilities- Be a role-model in all aspects of leadership and promote a positive team culture within the unit
- Leadership and coordination of the Day Surgery unit
- Demonstrate professionalism at all times
- Provision and coordination of care including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
- Monitoring outcomes and initiating/advocating changes to processes and practices
- Participating in the review, development, and implementation of relevant policies, procedures, and clinical protocols
- Participates and promotes clinical meetings in a multidisciplinary setting
- Relevant qualifications and Registration with AHPRA
- A minimum of 3-4 years' recent experience as a Stage 1 or Stage 2 Recovery Nurse
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded although not essential
- Knowledge and experience in Theatres, anaesthetics, and/or recovery
- Prior comparable experience in a leadership/supervisory role in a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong knowledge of continuous improvement processes, coupled with the proven ability to initiate, coordinate, and evaluate quality improvement measures
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control, and Clinical Risk policies
