The Role

The Financial Operations Assistant will play a key role in supporting the finance team with month-end reporting, general ledger transactions, and reconciliations. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a passion for financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Balance Sheet Management
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date fixed asset registers
    • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, including prepayments, contractor accruals, clearing accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and contract liabilities
  • Month-End Reporting
    • Calculate and process month-end journals, including prepayments, accruals, payroll journals, and other relevant items
    • Assist with month-end checks to ensure accuracy of P&L entries
  • Surveys and Compliance
    • Participate in quarterly Australian Bureau of Statistics surveys
  • General Support
    • Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed
About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in accounting or finance. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent certification
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office applications, especially Excel
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and systems
