Structures Asset Engineering Leadership Opportunity

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in structural engineering, with experience leading complex projects and teams.

About the Role

This is an exceptional opportunity to lead a high-performing team of engineers in delivering end-to-end engineering solutions for critical rail infrastructure assets.

  • Provide expert guidance to support the delivery of asset management strategies across a diverse portfolio of structural assets.
  • Support field maintenance teams and conduct site inspections to assign resources effectively.
  • Offer subject matter expertise in structures design reviews and project alignment.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for aging structures assets.
  • Collaborate closely with asset owners, designers, and third-party contractors.

What We Seek:

  • Proven experience leading complex structural engineering work and providing technical guidance to emerging engineers.
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles and relevant Australian standards.
  • Ability to lead engineering outcomes while influencing stakeholders across maintenance, project delivery, and asset management functions.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience working in rail infrastructure or similarly regulated environments.
  • Practical experience in construction or on-site delivery.
  • Understanding of whole-of-life asset management principles.
  • Strong project management capabilities, including task prioritisation and resource coordination.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil or Structural).
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in Queensland.
  • A valid Driver's Licence, as travel by vehicle will be required.
