C-130J Flying Instructor Role

Our organization seeks a highly skilled Flying Instructor C-130J to provide expert instruction and training in the operation of the C-130J aircraft.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering ground-based, simulator, and live aircraft instruction to RAAF students
  • Collaborating with the Lead Instructor C-130J Training CAE
  • Evaluating trainees and identifying areas for improvement
  • Completing administrative tasks related to training
  • Developing and updating course materials and training resources
  • Contributing to the growth of the program through professionalism and credibility
  • Participating in ongoing learning activities
  • Ensuring a safe working environment by minimizing health and safety risks

Requirements for success include:

  • At least 1000 hours of command experience on multi-engine, multi-crew aircraft or equivalent
  • A minimum of two years of instructional experience in an aircrew training setting
  • Previous experience as a military flying instructor (Qualified Flying Instructor)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Qualified Flying Instructor Category by the Central Flying School
  • Prior pilot check and training experience on C-130J is desirable
  • Experience in designing and developing aircrew training materials is also desirable

Applicants must be eligible for a SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance and preferably hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance.
